Bhushan Steel puts faith in government to propel steel industry

Confederation of Indian Industry organized a two-day long Steel Mart recently. Union Minister for steel, Narendra Singh Tomar, was present at the event. He addressed industrialists and government officials and also talked about the government’s commitment and workings in order to achieve the target of 30 crore tonne production per annum by 2025. Bhushan Steel Ltd, a premiere leader of the steel industry believes that the government would devise a mechanism to achieve the target mentioned by the union minister. Neeraj Singhal, Managing Director and Vice- Chairman, Bhushan Steel lauds the Steel Research and Technology Mission of India started by the government. This has also lent a fillip to the steel industry’s need to focus more on conducting extensive research.
The Union Minister has insisted that the steel industry needs a boost and this could be provided by cutting down the cost of manufacturers. Bhushan Steel Ltd. holds the same and believes that by bringing down the interest rates, debts and transportation costs, the industry can revive. A good rail connectivity with raw material sites can be of great help as it will substantially lower the cost of transportation and the time taken in transportation.

As steel industry is the backbone of all other industries, it becomes really important to promote and spread awareness about the proper usage of steel. Tomar insisted that there is a need to boost the demand of steel, particularly in rural areas.

The government is planning to meet the small and large scale steel industrialists in August and Bhushan Steel Ltd is really expectant from the meeting to devise some significant steps. Tomar said that the meeting will be aimed at drawing a road map by finding out common solutions. As secondary steel producers are passing through a tough time, this meeting has set them awaited.

Inception of Bhushan Steel credited to Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam

The year was 1980. India launched its first satellite ‘Rohini’. This year was marked as the beginning of a technological revolution in India. The aeronautical division of India achieved a milestone that propelled the country in the league of countries like Russia and USA. Many scientist received accolades but there was one man that stood as the backbone of this breakthrough. This humble scientist had a gleam in his eyes which was a clear reflection of the dreams he had harbored  for his country. This scientist was legendary Dr. Abdul Kalam Azad. He was the project director for the launch vehicle SLV-III, which successfully launched Rohini. Here was a man who channeled all his energy into making this mission successful. Here was the man who ignited an undying flame in a common man who did not rest until he had achieved a dream that seemed like a tough nut to crack.
Brij Bhushan Singal, Founder of Bhushan Steel, was this common man. Come 1987, Brij Bhushan Singal successfully established a steel factory in U.P. All this because of Dr. Azad who was the biggest source of inspiration for Mr. Bhushan . Every quote that was said by Mr Kalam had a deep impact on Mr. Singal, so much so that he did rest until Bhushan Steel became the third largest secondary steel producer in India. And the passion towards the work did not cease even after that. Just like Dr Kalam kept working throughout his life, even Brij Bhushan Singal works tirelessly. Such passion and dedication towards work can only be achieved when the focus is on a larger good rather than just profit figures. The underlying idea that Bhushan Steel focuses on is creating innovative and high quality products that benefit the consumer and country.
